Hand Loomed Fabric Offcuts
Fabric offcuts from garment factories located in Chiang Mai Thailand are collected by a local co-operative based in San Kampaeng. It is here that a group of village ladies use traditional hand loom techniques to tie the offcuts together and transform back into a colourful and usable fabric. Unfortunately there is little interest from the younger generation to learn to use the hand loom, and so there is a danger that the technique will die out with the elderly ladies who currently loom the fabric.
We use this fabric to make our Sunee Clutch Woven, Woven Tote Bag and Muma Tote Woven
